There are moments when words, teaching, and even passion are not enough to break through spiritual resistance. Jesus acknowledged this when He said that certain breakthroughs come only through prayer and fasting. Fasting reaches places that preaching alone cannot touch.
Preaching informs the mind, but fasting humbles the heart. When the church fasts, we are not just declaring truth — we are shifting the spiritual atmosphere. Walls that have stood for years begin to crack. Hearts that have been hardened by pain, pride, or past disappointment begin to soften.
Jesus taught in Matthew 6 that fasting done in secret releases open reward. One of those rewards is salvation and conversion. Fasting prepares the soil of the heart so that when the Word is preached, it lands differently. People respond faster. Conviction is clearer. Resistance is weaker.
As a church, we are believing for a measurable increase in first-time salvations. We are believing for altar calls where people respond without hesitation. We are believing for hardened hearts to open — not through pressure, but through the quiet, powerful work of the Holy Spirit.
Fasting does not replace preaching; it empowers it. It creates an environment where the gospel is not just heard but received. When the church fasts, salvation becomes easier — not because the message has changed, but because the heart has.
Today, pray specifically for those who feel far from God. Believe that as you fast, unseen barriers are being removed.
Prayer

Declaration
